WatchYoDog

Effective 2026-07-31 · operated by Northstar Production Studio

1. What this is

WatchYoDog is a community app for dog walkers: walk tracking, a hazard and lost-pet alert feed, a map, chat, and a forum. It is not an emergency service. If a situation is genuinely dangerous or urgent, contact local emergency services first — don't rely on this app to reach anyone in time.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to use WatchYoDog. This is a floor, not a promise it will stay there: Norway (where this service is operated from) has an active legislative proposal to raise the digital-consent age to 15–16, and if that becomes law before this page is updated, the higher age controls. If you're a parent or guardian and believe someone under the required age is using the app, contact us and we'll remove what we can.

3. There are no accounts, on purpose

WatchYoDog doesn't ask for a name, email, or login. That's a deliberate privacy choice, not an oversight — but it means we generally can't identify who posted something, can't verify anyone's identity, and can't personally notify a specific person if their post gets removed. If you post something, you're doing so knowing it isn't tied to a verifiable identity on either side.

4. User-submitted content isn't verified

Alerts, forum posts, chat messages, and map pins are written by other users, not reviewed by WatchYoDog before they're visible, and not verified for accuracy. A "danger" alert reflects what one person reported, not a confirmed fact. Use your own judgment — treat the feed as a tip, not a source of truth.

5. What you agree not to post

6. Reporting and removal

Any alert or forum post can be flagged by other users. Flagged content that crosses a report threshold is automatically hidden from the feed pending review, and we review flagged items by hand. Because there are no accounts, we usually can't message the original poster to explain a removal — but the reporting criteria are laid out here, in section 5, so the rules are public even when an individual explanation isn't possible.

7. Location data

Alerts you submit include an approximate location, rounded before it's ever stored or shown to anyone else — not your exact GPS position. Live walk-tracking location stays on your own device and is never sent anywhere unless a future feature says otherwise, clearly, in advance.

8. No warranty

WatchYoDog is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee the feed is complete, current, or correct, and we are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your reliance on content posted by other users or from your use of the app generally.

9. Your responsibility

You're responsible for what you post. By using WatchYoDog you agree to indemnify and hold Northstar Production Studio harmless from claims arising out of content you submit or your violation of these terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected in the "Effective" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the update.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway.

Plain-language summary, not a substitute for the text above: don't post about specific people, don't post anything illegal, treat the feed as unverified tips rather than fact, and know that because nobody has an account, moderation here works differently than on apps where every post is tied to a real profile.
